While I was working in the sewing room yesterday, upholstering a fantastic daybed that I will show you when it's finished, Alice came in and made herself right at home in the middle of what I was doing.
I love this about cats. They come in to remind us that life is not always about work and accomplishments ... sometimes one has to stop and appreciate the cuteness in life.
There's a whole lot of cute in this little furry package!
I found your blog from Savvy Southern Style. I love this post. I'm an animal girl too. I love them all. I have three cats and they do teach you to stop, rest, play and have fun! Love this! Your blog is lovely!
We have the usual number of rooms (for a large house) in our house. First floor: living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, office, one bathroom. Second floor: master bedroom, daughter's bedroom, grandson's room, sewing room, three bathrooms. Scary Basement: game room, workshop, laundry/boiler room, one bathroom.
The sewing room is my 'I can make a mess and close the door if I want to' room.
Ohhh, is that why the fur-babies plop right in the middle of every project? I always thought mine were saying, "Now, Mommy. Pay attention to ME now!!!" Alice is unquestionably beautiful. You must not get much work done.
My name is Connie, and I am Hartwood Roses ... an educational rose garden in Virginia that specializes in rare and unusual antique roses. I am a Certified Rosarian, a Master Gardener, a carpenter, a remodeler, and a dreamer. (The most up-to-date list of all the roses I grow ... 800 varieties so far ... is on my web site: HartwoodRoses.com).
I love roses (especially old roses), and gardening, and history, and building things ... all of this has come in handy as we restore our historic home (built in 1848) renovate the outbuildings, and design the gardens. This blog allows me share whatever is happening in the garden, around the house, or on my mind.
Hartwood Roses ... Heirloom Old Garden Roses and More
Hartwood Roses was a small farm nursery, located just north of Fredericksburg, Virginia. The retail portion of the business closed in 2012, and the mission shifted to my true love … speaking to organizations and garden clubs and giving classes to educate budding rose gardeners. The display gardens here contain over 800 different varieties of roses … with emphasis on rare and historic varieties, and popular classics that are well-suited for modern gardens. She is one gorgeous interruption, though, you must admit! ;)

Such a pretty cat.
Sewing room. How many rooms do you have in that house?

I love that picture! Charlie does the same thing and it is amazing how relaxed I get when I just pet him. Love my furry child! hugs, Linda
That is too cute. Mine do that all the time, no matter what I am doing he feels the need to be the center of it all. :)
xo
Ha, she was just revealing the real reason why you were doing what you were doing -- to make her maximally comfortable!
Oh she is cute! I would have to stop for a pet and purr session right there! xo Diana

I felt the same way about my dogs. I sure do miss them.
What a beautiful cat Alice is... and smart too. We all need to be more like Alice!
Why is that? They always have to lay right on the thing you are working on!
