Our Historic Home

Our house was built in 1848, in the Gothic Revival style ... which is a rare style for a southern Antebellum home.  We bought this property in October 2002, and immediately began restoring and renovating it.  We were finally able to move in and call it home in October 2007.  Few rooms in the house can truly be called 'finished', but the place is liveable and we love it here.

To help you get your bearings, here is a floor-plan of the house and rough survey of the property surrounding the house.  The original image came from a real estate brochure printed when the house was for sale in the 1980s ... I updated it to reflect any changes that have occurred since then.

Our house has three floors, four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and a full walk-up attic.

The links below are to blog posts where I documented the 'Before and After' of construction and renovation of parts of our house. There will be more to come, as I dig through photos and/or get things to a more finished state worthy of an 'After'.
