Flowers!

Our weather this week here in beautiful Hartwood, Virginia, has been absolutely perfect!  Sunny, breezy, warm-but-not-too-warm.  Forsythia and Daffodils are in full bloom.

The photo is a clump of heritage double daffodils in our front garden, glowing in the sunshine and waving in the breeze.  It does my soul good to have flowers in the yard, after such a long, cold, snowy winter.

I have been working to whip my English Garden into shape ... two days at it so far, and at least two more left to go.  Weeding, pruning, mulching.  Used up the first truckload of mulch, and I have a refill ready to go when I get back to it tomorrow morning.

I am tired, but it's a good type of tired ... the kind that comes from hard work doing something that I love to do.

  3. LOVE the picture! I was out a little last evening, and was worn out from the little bit of work, and all the fresh air--I loved it too!

  4. Whut do you eat for breakfast??? Am desperate for some of your oom-pah-pah!! After such a sedentary winter with far tooooo much rain, can't seem to get my body into necessary motion for all the daily tasks required. Heart is there - stamina is NOT. drat.

  6. I love the photo and it sure looks like spring.

Someone asked what you eat, I mean really, do you eat Wheaties for breakfast (breakfast of champions) and spinach for lunch (Popeye)? You are always on the go and accomplish so much.

It is good to be a 'good' tired especially after doing something you really enjoy or want to see the results of your labors.

Have a wonderful weekend ~ FlowerLady

  9. It's always so exciting to see the daffodils come up and bloom after a cold winter. I have been weeding but need to mulch. Even though I love how the garden looks after a good mulching, and I know it's good for the garden, it's still one of my least favorite jobs. Kudos to you for finishing a truckload already!
