Away From Home

I am in Florida.  Flew here on Tuesday to attend the funeral for my uncle (my dad's brother).  Even though the reason for the trip sucks, the visit has been filled with family and stories and laughter and love.

Rest in peace, Uncle Jack.  Your work here is done.

Welcome to Florida! I'm in Central Florida and the weather is not too bad for this time of year.

Enjoy your family and safe travels.

I know what you mean about family funerals. They are bittersweet. You're saying goodbye to someone you love but you're there with so many other loved ones that the air is brimming with stories, laughter and family connections. I hope you make some treasured memories in your uncle's honor.

I'm so sorry, Connie. The only good thing that comes of funerals is that it brings so many people together who are many times scattered about the country. Hope the laughs you shared were great big belly laughs.
