Packing My Bags ...

... and heading for Las Vegas!  Vegas in July, you ask?  This is what happens when one vacations with a teacher, who is only off work for five weeks during the summer.

According to, it looks as if the West Coast heatwave will be over, and we will have a bit of a break from the historically oppressive temperatures out there for the past couple of weeks.

I will be traveling and will miss the 109 degrees in Vegas today.

All of the arrangements for me to be away from home are finished.  Ruby is staying with my parents.

Our son-in-law will be here to watch the house and help with outdoor stuff.  He is working on a project for me that I can't wait to share with you!

All I have left to do is finish packing and I will be ready to go.  Las Vegas, here I come!!

  1. Have fun! Those temps are really not all that bad for that part of the country, Humidity there is a heck of a lot lower than in Virginia so you'll do fine. Enjoy your vacay!!

  2. Oh have a great time! My trip there last year was so much fun!!!!

  3. If you are carnivores, might I suggest Texas de Brazil? It's off the strip, about a $60 meal apiece, and would be a long evenings dinner.

  4. Have a great time and enjoy your time away! Be safe!

  5. Have a great time! ... you'll have to let me know what you think of the place. I think it would be too chaotic for me, but so many people love it.

  6. Another hot place is the last place I'd want to be headed, no doubt you do better than I ever would.

Poor Ruby, bet she's going to be missing you terribly.

Have fun, stay safe and BE CAREFUL!

  7. Have fun, Connie- I know you will!!! xo Diana

  8. Good luck on the slots! I know you have it all planned as to which roses you'll buy with casino winnings :)

  9. Have a great time! It may be hot, but it's a dry heat -- I'll take that over this humidity any day!

  10. Are you nuts ? Vegas in July. No pool can make up for that.

I've been there a lot but not in July and August. No way.

Hope you have lots of shows to go to and love to gamble.

    Bring lots of sunscreen ...

So, where are you staying ?

  11. Enjoy yourselves in Las Vegas, have a great time! It is a quite a difference your rosegarden or Las Vegas.

  12. What don't go gambling the homestead away!!!!

Safe travels, have loads of fun and relaxation---
