I *heart* Trading

FlowerLady Lorraine is a frequent visitor here, and I am a regular at her blog, too.  She lives in Plum Cottage, a wonderful little 1/4 acre world that she and her late husband created in tropical south Florida.  I am amazed at the variety of plants that thrive in her beautiful garden ... and her courageous use of color!

See?  I told you!  Isn't this wonderful!!!

A couple of weeks ago, when I announced that I would have a few roses for sale at my Open Garden, FlowerLady emailed and asked if I would be willing to work a trade.  Of course!!!  I told her that bartering is my favorite form of currency!

In exchange for two roses, she sent me this beautiful embroidered heart that she chose for me from her Etsy store.

I am in awe of her talent ... every single one of her stitches is PERFECT!

Thank you, Rainey ... I love it!!

    1. Blogging is a wonderful way to make friends online with lovely people in places that we may never visit … like a certain nice lady in The Netherlands.

  2. Dear Connie ~ My eyes are filled with tears to overflowing. Seeing this photo of main garden with hubby's workshop behind was the trigger and your kind words just spoke to my heart. That photo was before the paint faded, now I'm ready to paint again, first the house as it really needs it.

Thank you for the barter. I'm glad you liked the heart. I can hardly wait for the roses to bloom for me. To see and smell them will be pure delight and I will think of you and your fabulous rose gardens there at Hartwood Roses.

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady (Rainey, Lorraine)

  11. What a gorgeous piece of handiwork! I am weak for anything with hearts and that embroidery is stunning, especially against the gray background. Great barter, Connie, and you're right FlowerLady Lorraine's garden and colors look fabulous!
