The smudge on my lens adds a dreamy, almost-romantic quality to this photo.
If you didn't already know that this was supposed to be a rose garden, with roses planted in neat rows divided by gravel paths, you would almost think that it was a wild cottage garden full of native plants. Visitors this year have been most intrigued by the mayhem in this garden. One woman saw it and exclaimed, "I can do this!" ... then she laughed and dove in to see what she could discover.
I have a plan to reclaim this, but it's going to have to happen a little at a time. Thank goodness we have friends who are willing to lend a hand.
I have to say that it is pretty beautiful. I've always wanted such a garden. Who knew that it just took ignoring the yard!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Like a little hideaway cottage amongst a forgotten rose garden.

It's lovely in a wild and whimsical way! The controlled paths with roses and then the wild weeds! Glad you can reclaim it for the Roses!
ReplyDeleteWeeds are the new flowers, haven't you heard?! ;-) That is the one thing I hate about gardening, keeping up with the weeds. Only you can make weeds look so good! You cracked me up with your comment on my latest post!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday!
Kat :)
I like your secret garden! In fact, I love that movie and like to watch it every Spring! It motivates me!
ReplyDeleteI digress... I think you're garden is still beautiful even with the weeds!
Yes, that's a lovely shot of wildflowers and native plants that sends shivers up my spine. I give you great credit, Connie, for your ability to compartmentalize during the wedding preparation. Personally, I would have been having night terrors, and right now I can only sit here stunned and bug-eyed, staring at that photo. When does the yanking start? I hope you have LOTS of help.
ReplyDeleteBest looking weeds I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteYay! I have one of those kind of plots too~ makes me feel good to know you do:-)
ReplyDeletei wish my weeds looked that pretty!
ReplyDeleteEven weedy, it's still beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHard to believe they grew so much since my last visit. Oh well as you saw on Sunday in my garden weeds happen.Btw,saw RRD on one of my HT's this morning. Will send text photo this evening. Rick
ReplyDeleteP.S. Good to see you yesterday.
That's truly lovely and love the dreamy quality to the photo. Even a weed filled garden is beautiful, imo. Weeds are just plants where they aren't wanted, right? -LOL-
ReplyDeleteConnie- it may be the weed patch- but I do think it's beautiful. You must be filled with great anticipation over the upcoming wedding- I can hardly wait for those photos!!
ReplyDeleteI say leave that "weed" patch alone- it has fabulous character!
