I'm sitting here in my favorite red leather chair, early on this drizzly, cool Sunday morning. The scene around me is typical ... Ruby and Winnie sacked out on opposite ends of the sofa, and Dorothy snuggled beside me.
Reminds me of this cartoon that I see on line from time to time:
Surgery to restore the hearing in my left ear was ten days ago, and I'm almost 100% back to my usual active, ridiculously positive, self. My impaired equilibrium , which was a result of the surgery, is almost completely normal, thank goodness. Soon, I hope to put words to my experience (so far) of my brain's relearning how to process what I now can hear. For a person who's as curious as I am, it's been VERY enlightening.
Happy Sunday, Everyone!!

Glad you are doing so much better.
ReplyDeleteMe, too. I'm very fortunate that I don't get motion sickness, or this last week and a half of tipsy equilibrium could have been completely awful.
DeleteI'm happy to hear that you're doing well! Take care of yourself xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne!
DeleteThank you - we take so much for granted as far as our health is concerned until we are reminded that it can change on a dime! Congrats to have embraced this healing process!
ReplyDeleteNo choice BUT to embrace it ... things take time. I can be patient when I have to be, and this was one of those instances.
DeleteI am shocked at how much my hearing had deteriorated over the years (decades?). Almost everyone now tells me that I hid it really well. Hid it? I wasn't hiding anything ... I was getting by and doing the best that I could under the circumstances.
Yeaaa!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm dealing with ears ... you are focused on eyes ... get it, focused? Just kidding. :)
DeleteI've been thinking of you and Lucy, hoping that HER healing is progressing as the Dr. hopes.
Wonderful that you are healing so well and hearing!! The pile of cats is funny!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
In addition to the idea of cats, cats, and more cats, I love this cartoon because the little girl in it reminds me of what our middle daughter looked like after she got her glasses ... and the fact that she was the one who loved the company of our cats the most. Like mother, like daughter, I guess.
DeleteI must have missed something... but glad you are doing well!
ReplyDeleteI miss stuff all the time.
DeleteI did a post last week about my surgery. Relatively minor procedure, as far as any type of surgery goes, with the potential for MAJOR improvement to my quality of life. It’s been almost two weeks of letting things heal and waiting for my equilibrium to reestablish itself. I’m almost 100%, as far as I can tell.
So glad to hear you are doing much better dear Connie, that is great news.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week ~ FlowerLady
Better and better every day so far!
DeleteI love reading your blog and am so glad to hear you're having success with your surgery.
ReplyDeleteHi, Sheryl! It's great to hear that you enjoy coming here to visit. Thank you.
DeleteYou kitty looks so cozy there. Loved the cartoon. That's how it is at our house. - So happy to hear that your surgery went well and you are recovering so nicely.
ReplyDeleteI resembled the cartoon the other evening, when all three cats squished themselves on and around me at the same time.
DeleteOH NO!
ReplyDeleteI too missed that post!
I am so sorry you had to go through surgery
but SO HAPPY that you are doing well!
XOXOXOXOXOXO
Surgery was as easy as surgery gets, and the results have been AWESOME!!
DeleteThanks for sharing your lovely news of successful surgery. What a relief for you to be almost fully recuperated and adjusting to normal hearing. Sweet and beautiful cat!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I put this out there so others can, perhaps, learn that there may be options ... depending on the cause of their hearing loss.
DeleteCats (and dogs) are the BEST for keeping one company.
