Dorothy was perfectly comfortable ... I don't see how. I guess it's a cat thing.
Off topic: This is the radiator in the living room, the room where we removed the plaster ceiling over Christmas. The paint samples show my attempts to choose a paint color. The final choice (as of now) is the small darker one ... Greyhound, by Benjamin Moore. Bluish, greenish grey, and I think it's perfect!

so cute
ReplyDeleteCute is what cats do best!
DeleteSweet kitty. I like your paint choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sylvia!
DeleteBeautiful choice of paint which belongs to the house I think. Not so comfortable on that ´naked´ radiator, but I suppose she loves the warmth if it´s not too hot, but may be her fur and skin are heat resistant.
ReplyDeleteI think that Dorothy's thick fur provides a little bit of insulation against the direct heat of the radiator ... at least I hope it does. Some days when she does this, I almost expect her to have grill marks (like one a good steak) :)
DeleteLove the photo of Dorothy. Cats can sleep in just about any position it seems. She's definitely got a nice 'warm' spot.
ReplyDeleteLove your color choice for the living room.
Have a great week ~ FlowerLady
When we first bought this house, I knew that the cats would love having radiators. I was right.
DeleteI'm very excited to have made the living room paint choice, though application of said paint is still months away. That's okay ... it's good to have decisions in place as the project progresses.
Dorothy looks nice and warm. I love Benjamin Moore paints! It's like painting with silk.
ReplyDeleteWhen Dorothy gets all relaxed like that on the radiator, it looks as if she's melted and oozed between the sections. Weird cat. (I join you in your love of Benj Moore paint. Most of our house is painted with them, and I love my local BM supplier. Local store with great service.)
DeleteLuv the middle gray'ish one!
ReplyDeleteI'd be with kitty- I hate being cold!
Catherine
The middle gray-ish color is 'Silver Sage' from Restoration Hardware. It's the same color as is in our family room and our master bedroom. I first thought that I would paint the two front rooms the same color, for continuity. I abandoned this idea recently because the light in the two rooms is so different. The living room windows face north and east, and it's a much darker, cozier room ... which I now think needs a deeper color on the walls. I had a sample can of 'Greyhound' in the cupboard (bought it because I ran across the name in my fan deck ... had to do it!) Medium-tone, chameleon bluish-greenish-grey is totally perfect in there. You'll see.
DeleteOh, sweet Dorothy.
ReplyDeleteSuch a peaceful image.
Looking at your colors, I love them all!
I can never choose when it comes to painting the rooms of my house.
Maybe that's why everything is White.
:D
xo
Dorothy is a weird cat. Seems that we like 'em best that way.
DeleteSounds weird to say it out loud, but it's almost as if I can see the colors before I choose them. All I have to do after that is make the choice look like the image in my head ... and I don't stress over it.
Cute ...
