Tis the Season to Remember

As we gather tonight and tomorrow with our families to celebrate Christmas, take a minute to remember the members of our military.  (I'm an Army brat, you remember.)

I especially want to remind you to say a prayer for the families of service members who lost their lives in service to our country.

Be thankful for their sacrifice ... and hold your loved ones close.

I took these photos last week at Culpeper National Cemetery.  The wreaths were laid by volunteers a few weeks ago as part of Wreaths Across America.

  1. Thank you for this post. I was not aware of this program. I had to check out the link and found out if the national cemetery near us was participating. Because our son is buried there I want to find out more.

  2. Amen, Connie. I think this is a wonderful program and I love the feeling it gives me to see how the fallen soliders are honored here. My own father was a medic in WWI and so I have always felt very connected to our service people.

    Merry Christmas- xo Diana

  16. How very beautiful touching to see all those wreaths! I wonder why some headstones didn't have any?
It always moves me deeply to see the many headstones of those who have fallen while serving and defending our country.
Thank you for sharing these photos AND the link to the Wreaths Across America link.
