I loved the way he looked this evening as I saw him from my kitchen window, silhouetted against the sunset after a rainstorm.
Here's a bit of 'full disclosure' about this image ... I took some really cute hummer silhouette photos through the kitchen window with a long lens, no more than 10 minutes before the sky turned this great color ... and when the sun got a little lower in the sky and the color appeared, the bird was nowhere to be seen. So, I snapped a sunset photo from the same angle, and I spent a few minutes with Photoshop, clipping a bird out of one of the other shots, and pasting it into the sunset photo.
Ta Dah!! Hummingbird at sunset.
Sublime!
ReplyDeleteHahaha... good job! Nobody would have known, if you hadn't admitted it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great shot- they are possessive little devils aren't they? xo Diana

I have a similar photo I took some time ago which I just love -- great editing here, Connie. :)
ReplyDeleteI decided to fess up to this art project, hoping that my confession wouldn't diminish the beauty of the scene.
ReplyDeleteOur male hummers are getting quite agressive too which they normally do in August. It's very comical to see them chasing every other hummingbird away from "their" feeder. Makes for some great outdoor evening entertainment! ~Patti
ReplyDeleteIt's always amazed me how ferocious these little birds can be. I've often said that if they were regular bird size, they would be as hated as the grackles!
ReplyDeleteWe have a 'war' going on at our feeder this week also! Great photo no matter how you took it! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful.....beautiful photograph! I love a photoshopped hummingbird.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!

Now that you mention it, that hummer is a little TOO much in focus....I'd have taken the picture and it would have been so fuzzy you could barely tell it was a hummer. I should have known.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you shared it!
