How Dorothy Fights off the Chill of Winter

Dorothy has figured out how to stay warm when the weather outside is cold and damp and house is chilly.  We regularly find her napping on the radiator in our foyer.

I'm so thankful that my camera was in my pocket, so I could carefully capture the scene without disturbing her.

  5. Mmmm . . . toasted Cat.
Sounds like something our dog would love.
When we lived in a big old row house in Pittsburgh, we had floor heat vents, and our dog would lie on top of them -- blocking OUR heat, and absorbing it all into her little body. When I picked her up, it was like picking up a hot potato. A furry one.
    With legs.
So maybe not a potato, but you get the idea.
and our neighbor's Siamese would come into our house and nap on the stove, above the pilot lights.
I don't know how she didn't spontaneously combust.
    GREAT picture.

  6. WOW, that is one cute picture. I think its time to turn her over so she will have nice grill marks.

  10. Dear Connie, Cats are so smart, aren't they? Love the radiators in your house -- prefer them to my baseboard heaters. P. x

  13. Similar scenes here, but I felt sorry for ours having to lay on the ribs of the radiator, so I put a towel down for them. It was one of my few kinds acts toward a cat.
