Dear Mr. County Building Inspector,

You didn't show up yesterday like you were supposed to.  We must have your seal of approval on the gas company's lines and installation before my beautiful new stove can be slid into its spot in the kitchen.

The crew from Lowes delivered the stove yesterday afternoon, and put it in the dining room.  (One of the guys was borderline-phobia afraid of cats.  I had to lock Alice and the gang away to calm his nerves.)

We will be maneuvering around a large stove in our dining room until next week.  That's the soonest we could manage to get things scheduled, because of the inspector's no show.  Thank goodness I still have my electric range in place until then.

  7. What a bummer! You shouldn't have to wait till next week... you should have been first in line after the no show. They shouldn't inspect one more job, until they've done whomever they missed!

  10. What kind of stove? Is it all gas or dual fuel? Can you tell I have been shopping for a new stove?!! I've decided on an all gas Frigidaire gallery series range to match my new refrigerator.

  11. Hope, the gas (propane) company is responsible the installation of the tanks and lines (one set for the greenhouse and one set for the house), and their work has to be done with a building permit and inspection from the county inspector. It's for our own protection ... permits are a GOOD thing, even when there are delays. I'm okay with the delay ... just a little bit antsy to use my new stove. Next week is soon enough.
